We have examined a lot of marrow lymphocyte Sister Chvomatid Exchange(SCE) of C57 pure mice and thought it as a sign of antimutation.It was found that SCE value was markedly raised in eight mice by universally accepted mutagentic agent Cydephosphamide to influence them.But the SCE value of experimen- tal animals was reduced compared wifh fhe control described above.That in to say,a difference obviously exists between them.It shows that Decoction of Four Mild Drngs possesses the effect of antimutation.Base on this, we carried out tests of antimutation on its ingredients respectively and the result further provedthat Single drugs for tonifying qi in the Decoction-Radix Ginsing,Redix Codoropsis pilosulae,Radix Glyeyrrhizae praeparata and Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae possessed the effect of antimutation too,while poria co- cos which isn't for tonifying qi had not this effect.This fact indicates that qi tonification and antimutatisn ave identical,the effect of tonifying qi includes antimutatinn effect.
