摘要
“数字湖南”是在"数字地球”背景下产生的一种能嵌入海量数据、多分辨率和三维的湖南自然与人文信息的数字化描述方式，是以湖南为对象的真实地球的数字化再现，是湖南信息高度富集的统一体。湖南信息基础设施和空间数据基础设施，是“数字湖南”的基础和主要内容。“数字湖南”的研究为湖南提供了“跨越式”发展的机遇，将极大地推进湖南的科技发展，并在湖南可持续发展中具有广阔的应用潜力。
“The digital Hunan”is considered to be the digitized describing mode that is derived from the background of the ＂digital globe＂,inlaid with the marine data,multi-resolving power,triaxial nature of Hunan and Humane information.Taking Hunan as the object,it is thought to be the digital reappearance of real globe and the high-rich unity of the information.Based on the study of 'The digital hunan'supplies with a 'leaping-over' opportunity for development,which will greatly promote the development of scientific technology of Hunan and will bring out latent potentialities in the sustainable development.
