After analyzing the affecting factors of coal and gas outburst, a neural network model for the prediction of the gas outburst is presented. The characteristic parameter for gas outburst, the expressing method and reasoning process for neural network are introduced. The actual example demonstrates that the precision of the model is well enough to meet the requirements. Neural network model is reliable in coal and gas outburst of the face.
