This article discusses basic principles and experimental implementation of the video-on-demand service system based on ATM and Internet.The system consists of the broker acts as a guide to multimedia services,and complements servers of clients.The interworking unit performs various translation functions under the control of the broker,including stream transport conversion,traffic monitoring and bit-rate control,service gateway conversion,and stream control conversion.
