The study on the enumeration mediums and methods for Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus was conducted.The results show that the method of the double layer Lactobacillus bulgaricus selective medium and acid MRS medium in test tube can enumerate Lactobacillus bulgaricus selectively; the method of double layer MRS medium and MRS medium in test tube can enumerate Streptococcus thermophilus selectively; the double layer improved MRS medium or MRS medium with tomato juice and each of the two mediums in test tube can enumerate the total number of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus.
