桃源在中国思想史和文化史上是一个包蕴着特殊文化内涵的意象 ,对后世的思想和文学创作有着深远的影响。本文从历时性角度 ,追溯了桃源意象产生的哲学理论依据 ,考察和阐释了这一意象的基本内涵 ,力图深入。

In the histry of Chinese ideology and culture, Taoyuan (the Land of Peach Blossoms) is considered to be an image with a peculiar cultural connotation. Taoyuan image has a profound effect on ideology and the literary creation of later generations. This paper historically traces the philosophical and theoretical basis for the origin of Taoyuan image. The paper also interprets its basic connotation in an attempt to find out why some people have been longing for such a idyllic life as described in Taoyuan.
