This thesis expounds a fault diagnosis expert system of a vapour jet pump. This system can judge the kinds and reasons of vacuum system faults and draw a solution. The part of fault diagnosis has the functions of reasoning, judgement and self study. This system can on line monitor the vapour jet pump, so it enhances the equipment reliability greatly. The system has a wide applied prospect in many fields, such as metallurgy and chemical industry, etc.
