The history and development of geoanalytical techniques are reviewed; the new demands of modem geosciences to geoanalysis and the basical conditions provided by analytical science are discussed; the important fields and the hot techniques of current geoanalysis including the development of bulk-analysis and microanalysis techniques and the demands for gas geochemical analysis, field analysis, geostandard materials and 'green' analytical techniques are evaluated and forecasted: 'Geoanalysis' came from 'rock and mineral analysis' and will expand to 'natural material analysis' concerning in more fields. Bulk analysis, microanalysis and organic and inorganic biochemical analysis will be the three important directions.
