This article gives a brief introduction of EM (expection maximum) algorithm and regularized EM algorithm used to restore 3 D images of fluorescent microscope.EM is an iterative algorithm that can improve image resolution,especially in Z direction.Regularized EM algorithm can void the appearance of isolated very bright spots and does not loose dim detail in contrast to EM algorithm.
