English diminutive suffixes play an important role in their word formation. This paper is intended to analyze the characteristics of the nouns with diminutive suffixes from the aspects of their word-formation methods, their lexical meanings, their rhetorical effects, the variation of their pronunciations and their formation of new words in order to bring to light the rules of the word-formation and development of the nouns with diminutive suffixes.
