The following issues are discussed in this paper: (1)The contribution and disadvantage of the definition of literature obsolescence suggested by A.I.Minailov; (2)There is no inevitable connection between the value of literature and the usage of it; (3)The value of information resource is not the criterion for measuring the obsolescence of literature; (4)The obsolescence of literature is measured by the necessity of literature used by user; (5)The new definition of obsolescence of literature.
