A Critical Biography of Huangpu Song

皇甫松在晚唐文坛有一定影响，但现存有关生平的资料很少。其《大隐赋》可以看作是诗人的自我写照。有理由把《大隐赋》当作逼视诗人生存状态和精神风貌的第一手材料。皇甫松的词就题材风格看更接近民间词，是刘禹锡、白居易小令创作的延续，同时也是温韦同类题材的先声。

Huangpu Song was an important figure in the literary circle of the late Tang Dynasty,but there is a scarcity of the materials about his life and work. His Dayingfu can be considered as his self-portrayal, a first-hand material which portrays the poet＇s life condition and mental attitude. The thematic style of his poems is somewhat similar to that of folk poetry , and continues the poetic creations of Liu Yuxi and Bai Juyi. Meanwhile, his poems heralded the Wenwei literary creations with the same subject.
