梁发与中西文化的会通

LIANG Fa and the Combination of Chinese and Western Culture

梁发的一生，与中国早期基督新教传播史密切关联:入华的各派著名传教士几乎都与他有过交往，受到他的引领或帮助；重要的华人教徒，多数同他有过共事的经历。梁发最重要的业绩，是亲自口传笔著，把中国文化与基督教加以融合，用传统文化诠释基督教，便于国人理解与接受。另方面，梁发并不完全墨守成规，他对传教士翻译的圣经，亦曾指出其不善之处，并刻意加以纠正。因此，梁发应被列于最早向西方寻求真理的人士之列，他在中西文化会通方面的建树，应当给予肯定。

The whole life of LIANG Fa was closely related with the earlier history of Protestantism in China. Almost all the earlier missionaries had contacts with and gained guidance and help from him, and most of the major Chinese Christians worked together with him. The major contributions of LIANG is the combination of Chinese and Western Culture and the explanation of Christianity with Chinese traditional culture through his speech and writings in order to make the ordinary Chinese understand it easily. Besides he did not stick to conventions and pointed out and tried to correct many shortcomings of the translation of the Bible by the Western missionaries .So LIANG Fa should be regarded as one of the earlier advanced Chinese who searched for truth from the West and his contributions should be objectively confirmed.
