The Rationality of Cultural Misunderstanding in Intercultural Communication

文化误读往往被认为是文化交流中的壁垒,是交流学、翻译学批评的对象。本文从文化哲学、现代释义学角度阐述由于前见与视界问题的存在,误读存在与文化融合的合理性。并以梭罗创造性理解中国典籍为个案,分析论证了误读实际上是带入性理解。因此,面对语言文化差异不能只在“文字技巧”上下功夫,更要以开放的态度寻求中西文化对话过程中的互动与合作。

This paper rethinks on the view that cultural misunderstanding is only a blockade to the smooth intercultura l communication,and probes,from the philosophical 、linguistic、and paraphrastical perspectives,i nto the rationality of misunderstan ding.The articles expresses it is beneficial to develop an unprejudiced and objecti ve attitude to see the cultural diffe rence by quoting some Thoreau' s misunderstandings.
