In radical marketing competition for recent years, the market occupation percentage of RO process has exceeded those of the other desalination processes. The energy consumption of RO for sea water desalination further decreased to 3?kW·h/m 3 or so, and the cost of desalted water has been reduced almost 50%, i.e., less than 0.55?$/m 3.
