Military communication network is forwarding in the direction of digitization, integration and intelligence. There is an imminent requirement for designing and devdloping a military integrated access device, which can accommodate various sevices to guarantee the efficient communication in army. This paper firstly expounds the background and necessity of developing military integrated access devices. And we put forward a tacics developing an access device that can implement integrated services to transfer to ISDN. Then we introduce the military integrated access device in detail, including the interfaces, hardware architctures and kinds of functional modules. Afterward, the service capabilities and application environments of the device are discussed.Finally,the application prospect of the device is forecasted.
