On English Quality-oriented Education

我们正处在新世纪的开端 ,基础教育已被列为教育的“重中之重”。培养高素质的创新型的英语人才 ,是英语教育的根本任务。要完成这一任务 ,英语教育必须实现由应试教育向素质教育的转变。

We live in the beginning of the new century when the basic education is considered as the key of the entire education. It is the basic task for schools to train highly qualified bilingual creative intellectuals with the ability to communicate directly with foreigners. In order to fulfill the tasks, school's education especially the basic one should orient itself from the 'Test-oriented education' to the 'Quality-oriented education'.
