This paper summarizes advances of recent research in heavy marine propeller materials, includc: to dctermine the cause of brittle failures of MAB propeller blades; to find an industrially practicable heat treeatment technology; and to determine the aluminum and manganese contents to give disired impact toughness and strength in as-cast marine propeller.
