As an integrated separation method,magnetically stabilized fluidized bed (MSFB) combines the advantages of fluidized and packed beds in terms of high voidage, low back-pressure and high column efficiency.So the technique can be employed to process crude biological feedstocks,reducing the step number of a separation process.The MSFB is operated under mild conditions,thus giving little negative effect on the biological activity of desired products.Therefore,the technique has a wide potential application in bioseparations.
