Because of some objective reasons,the etectroslag welding is not known by most of people and thus is less applied.This paper introduces in detail the electroslag welding,points out its applying conditions and some matters needing attention in application.And this paper compares it with electric arc welding that is well known by people by using real example,showing that it has wild applying prospect in steel bars' welding of high bridge pier.
