The article analyses the intrinsic factors which affect urban design expression in virtue of virtual emulative technique, as well as their main functional forms. Likewise, it is further analyzed concerning the technical priority which virtual emulative technique brings in the aspect of urban design expression, that is ,more virtual, more interactive and more mobile than traditional methods. Furthermore, the authors demonstrate the relationship between virtual emulative system and urban design expression, then shed light on its urgency. Finally, the article introduces the way in which virtual emulative technique is applied into architectural animation, and the direction to which architectural animation develops.
