Oral appliance therapy for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

近年来 ,各种口腔矫治器 (OA)较多地用于治疗鼾症和阻塞型睡眠呼吸暂停综合征 ,并获得一定疗效。目前 ,多认为OA可改变上呼吸道周围结构 ,改善上呼吸道狭窄情况 ,但其疗效机制尚不清楚。本文从OA分类、疗效、不良反应及患者依从性等加以回顾分析 。

Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) are related to the narrowing of the upper airway space. Recently, various types of oral appliances(OAs) have been used to treat snoring and OSAS, and satisfactory effects have been obtained. It is now recognized that OA might modify the structures around the upper airway and improve the narrowing of it. But the mechanism is still unknown. The article reviewed the relevant references in recent years and try to systematically evaluate OAs from the following aspects: the development, classification, fabrication, effects, side effects and the patient's compliance. And the emphasis was focused on the mechanism of its efficiency and the possible factors that might influence the results of the treatment.
