传统理论把语法看成语言结构的一个独立层面 ,其描述可置意义于不顾 ;而认知语法所处理的则是句法结构和语义结构的结合体。意义被视为概念化过程 ,通过认知过程来解释。语言结构及其使用也以经验为基础 ,并与认知心理发生关系。

While traditional theories regard syntax as an autonomous formal system,cognitive grammar claims the inseperability of syntax and semantics.In this framework,meaning is a cognitive phenomenon and must be eventually be analyzed as such.Language structure and language usage can be explained with reference to the processes underlying human conceptualization and communication.
