略论清代台湾社会的失调与控制

On Social Unbalance and Control in Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty

清代移民社会的失调产生一系列社会问题 ,如“反”与“乱”,赌博成风 ,以及吸食鸦片的盛行等。但是 ,台湾移民社会同时又产生极强的自制力 ,这种自制力主要表现在祭祀圈的形成 ;建立社区的自治中心—庙宇 ;防御圈的建立。通过以上的社会控制 。

The unbalance in the immigrants' society in the Qing Dynasty resulted in a series of social problems such as rebellions, lawlessness, prevailing practices of gambling and opium-taking, etc. Meanwhile, the immigrants' society in Taiwan was governed by a strong sense of self-control which was manifested in the formation of the circles of worship rituals, the establishment of temples as self-governing center of the community and the building of community defence. By means of such control, the stability and development of Taiwan immigrants' society was maintained.
