江泽民“三个代表”思想是对我党的性质、宗旨和根本任务新的概括，也是对马克思主义建党学说的新发展。当代中国的先进文化就是有中国特色的社会主义文化，其先进性表现在它是以马克思主义为指导，强调人的全面发展和富有开放性；要落实“三个代表”，推进先进文化建设，必须处理好指导思想一元化与文化建设多样性、文化建设与市场经济、精品文化与大众文化和文化建设与继承、借鉴４个关系。

JIANG Ze-min's thought of 'Three Representations' is a new gist of the Party's nature, aim and primary duty. It is also a new development of Marxism theory of construction construction. Nowadays, advanced culture is so-cialist culture of Chinese character. Its advancement lies that it emphasises people's comprehensive development and open quality with the guide of Marxism. In order to implement 'Three Representations' and push advanced cul- ture construction, four relationships must be handled well: unified ideology and diversified culture, culture con-struction and market economy, precious culture and popular culture, cultural construction, inheritance and refer-ence.
