On Moluo Poems clarified Lu Xun's literary and artistic views when he was young, which was an important literary and artistic programme of Lu Xun's advocation of literary and art movement and also a declaration of the change of Chinese literary and artistic ideas in the 20th century. In the article, LU Xun investigated the social functions of literature and art, pointed out that literature and art have the aesthetic characteristics of enjoyment, stimulating thought and changing one's character, clearly indicated a democratic characteristic of facing up to human life and calling for protest and struggle.
