The water pollution status in Liaohe River Basin and the strategic pro gram on water pollution control JP2drafted by Liaoning Province are presented in this paper. The municipal government of Liaoning Province has contributeda large number of labor and financial investment for water environment protection to improve th e living condition and to guarantee the sustainable development in this area. It is believed that the water pollution in Liaohe River Basin and Bohai Gulf will be controlled effectively.
