Our grand western development (GWD) is an important strategic decision, whose objective is notonly to accelerate the tempo of economic construction of the western parts, but also to further expand ourreform open to the outside world so as to promote the socialist construction of the four modernzations in ourcountry. The author points out that informaiton resources development is important part in the grand westerndevelopment and it is the vital factor in the successful grand western development. After analysing theinformaiton resources concerning the countermeasure for the information resources development of thewestern parts.
