To be successful in a market with inconstant requirements, an OLAP product must have an open structure with enough flexibility. It means that the product must not only be able to well integrated with existing data warehouse systems but also supply friendly interfaces to other software developers, especially to decision support system developers. Accordingly, we put forward an open OLAP structure and emphasize the internal structure of the OLAP server and how it supports the OLAP clients.
