人们的语用行为受制于他们各自的文化背景 ,由于语用中文化差异的存在 ,在跨文化交际中 ,人们往往因使用的外语不符合本民族的文化传统 ,而无法实现预期的交际。作为英语学习者 ,我们只有通过对比中西文化的不同 ,找出英语语用失误中的文化根源 。

Our pragmatic behavior is a function of culture. In the intercultural setting, because cultures differ in pragmatics, the foreign language we use in communication may be contrary to the cultural tradition of native speakers of that language, so that we fail to achieve our intended communication. As learners of the English language, we need understand the cultural cause of pragmatic failures in our English on the basis of a comparative study of eastern and western cultures, in order to remove our difficulties in intercultural communication.
