The formulas for calculating plane Poisson's ratio and thick Poisson's ratio of the composite laminates have been given in some literatures.In this paper,the critical stress intensity factor of composite with different plane Poisson ratio is compared and the critical stress intensity factor of composite with negative Poisson ratio is higher than with the balanced laminates.The cause is analyzed by observing the morphology of the fracture.
