Understanding the information model correctly is the successful key to the development of telecommunication network management. Due to the shortcoming inside the information expression language GDMO and the complication of network management system, the information model text of all standard organizations is hard to understand, which makes it difficulty to develop the network management system. In this paper, SDH network element management layer information model object and the network management layer information model object, and the relation between them, are described to make a reference of understanding and developing SDH network element management and network management systems.
