Deflation and the Readjustment of the Economic Structure

本文认为 ,1997年 10月起出现的通货紧缩 ,是我国建国以来第一次因为有效需求相对不足而导致的经济不景气 ,也是我国经济向市场经济过渡以来接受的第一次市场经济的综合性挑战。它标志着我国经济运行基本上进入了市场经济的运行轨道 ,它提供给我们最重要的警示是 ,目前我国企业面临的体制结构问题仍然很大 ,结构调整已成当务之急 ,但外部整体经济环境则比以往任何时候都更加重要 。

The author holds that the deflation, beginning from October, 1997, is owing to the relatively insufficient demand with the result in economic deflation the first time since the founding of our Republic, and our economy has responded to the comprehensive challenge of market economy the first time in transition period of market economy. It is significant that the fact signifies that the operation of our economy has fundamentally got on the right track of market economy. What it sounded the alarm for us is that at present there is a major problem of economic structure before enterprises in our country. Though the readjusment of economic structure has become a pressing matter of the moment, the outer overall economic environment is more important than ever before. Therefore the position of macro economic policy is also more important.
