秋胡故事解析——兼论中国古代女性在婚姻中的自主地位

秋胡故事是中国古老的传说之一 ,叙述负心男子秋胡离家多年之后返乡 ,调戏桑间美女 ,而此女恰是他相见不相识的妻子 ,妻子不齿其行投河而死。这一戏妻的基本故事面貌随着时代的演进逐渐发生了变化 ,从秋胡戏妻变为秋胡试妻 ,采用有意试妻结构的同时 ,也意味着误会消除之后夫妻和好的大团圆结局。而这一变化与中国古代女性在婚姻中受贞节观念束缚。

The story of QIU Hu,one of the old Chinese legends,is about an ungrateful man—QIU Hu who returned to his hometown after many years,took liberties with a beauty in mulberry field,but she exactly was his wife whom he thought he had never met her before,at last the wife drowned herself in a river for despising his action.With the evolution of the times,this storys basic plot has changed from QIU Hus taking liberties with his wife to sounding his wife about her chastity.While purposely using the structure of sounding the wife out,it means that the story has a happy reunion ending—the couple became reconciled after clearing up the misunderstanding.This change is closely bound up with the fact that the Chinese ancient womens independent position in marriage has come down little by little.
