南诏是一个与唐中央王朝有相对独立性的地方政权。在南诏治滇的两百多年里，创造了具有鲜明民族特色和地方特点的南诏文化，这是南诏本土文化对外来文化兼收并蓄的结果。兼容性是南诏文化鲜明的特点之一。

Nanzhao Kingdom was a local government which was relatively independent of the central government of Tan Dynasty. During the 200 years of its governing funnan, It created NanZhao culture with dis- tinctive national character and local characteristics, the result of the combination of NanZhao local culture abd for- eign culture. So compau-bility was one of distinct characteristic of NanZhao culture.
