镇江光复是辛亥革命中一次以新军为主力的不流血的武装光复。它是镇江革命党人在同盟会中部总会领导下 ,齐心协力、艰苦奋斗的结果。它建立了革命政权和镇军陆海军 ,迅速扩大了革命范围。因此 ,它具有不少特点 ,其中有些特点在辛亥江苏各地光复中是罕见的 ,在全国也寥寥可数。
