思想政治工作是经济工作和其他一切工作的“生命线”,稳定大局、排除“左”和右的思想干扰、防止和平演变以及增强防腐抗变能力都必须牢牢抓住这条“生命线”。思想政治工作是团结全党和全国各族人民实现党和国家各项任务的“中心环节”。“中心环节”与党的政治路线亦即“中心任务”并行不悖、相辅相成。“中心任务”为全国人民指明了努力奋斗的方向 ,“中心环节”的实现为中心任务的完成提供了强有力的思想政治保证。与国内各政党派别以及西方资本主义国家相比 ,思想政治工作是我们党和国家的重要政治优势 ,其表现是多方面的。

Ideological and political work is the lifeline of econom ic work and all the other work as well.If we want to maintain the social and political stability,eliminate the left and right deviationist interference, prevent the peaceful evolution and improve im munity against corruption,we have to take firm hold of this lifeline.Ideological and political work is also the central link thatwill enable to ally the Party and the peoples of all the country to fulfill the tasks set by the Party and the state.The central link runs parallel to the Party's political line or central tasks;they are complementary to each other.The central tasks point out the direction in which we are working,while the central link provides powerful ideological and political guarantee for fulfillment of the central tasks.
