近年来在我国长江三角洲地区掀起了乡镇撤并的热潮 ,人们期望通过镇域行政区划的调整 ,促进小城镇的规模化发展 ,加速农村城镇化的进程。乡镇撤并热潮的出现 ,有多方面的原因 ,在现实操作中也存在一些问题 ,需要认真加以解决。

A new phenomenon has appeared thatm any towns and townships are dissolved or m erged along the Yangtze River Delta since1998,which contributes the developmentof the towns and speeds up the process of urbanization.Many factors have led to this process,but there are still som e existing problems yet to be solved seriously.
