Objective To investigate the developing course of cerebral vasospasm and the change of brain temperature following subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH) in rabbits, the effects of subhypothermia on vasospasm.Method A SAH rabbit model was adopted by double injecting blood into foramina occipitale magnum and managed by subhypothermia. Results 33~35℃ subhypothermia has significant preventing effects on cerebral vasospasm(CVS) after SAH.Without any side effect on vital signs. Conclusions As early as carrying out subhypothermia can reduce and postpone CVS after SAH,and relieve the pathological damage of vessel tissue.
