The key link of embankment dam construction is fil ling and compacting of earth and rock materials and the compaction quality d epends on whether the compacting standard is properly executed. A brief analysis is made on the problems in execution of the compacting standard. A comprehensiv e description is given to the definition, conditions and interrelation of compac ting standard for the purpose of correctly applying the compacting standard and ensuring construction quality.
