A new method of anchorage design is briefly introduced and a comprehensive comparison is made between the conventional tensile anchora ge cable and the rapidly developing composite type anchorage cable. With the adv antages of large bearing capacity, superior durability and uniform distribution of friction resistance stress, the latter has tackled the crucial technical prob lems of tensile craking and poor anti- corrosion performance of the inner an chorage section. This is a new technique with promissing future of application.
