With the development of computer network, there have been more and more urgent requirements in the computer network security. In this paper, the goals of network security are reviewed, several methods of network attack and the technologies of network security are analyzed, and the emphasis is put on the description and analysis of the MD5 message digest algorithm which is commonly adopted in dealing with digital signatures. The flaws of the algorithm are investigated and a resolvent is recommended.
