The article discusses the connecting method of laboratory equipment and a computer by serial ports. As computer and laboratory equipment is connected, the function of the laboratory equipment can be expanded, such as adding Chinese interface, acquiring data, storing data, managing and analyzing data from the laboratory equipment. Further more, the interconnection of the laboratory equipment and the interconnection of all of medical equipments in hospital may be implemented based on the work.
