青光眼滤过术失败的主要原因是成纤维细胞增殖，胶原沉积，滤过泡瘢痕形成。在滤过术后应用抗瘢痕形成药物能提高青光眼滤过术的成功率。如：抗代谢药物、干扰素、肝素等已用于滤过术后的实验及临床研究。正确评价和选择更有效的药物释放系统是研究的重要课题。
