This paper analyse the DBF file storage structure difference of dBASE 1 and the VAX/DBASE, intro duce the method of DBF file conversion between dBASE I and VAX/DBASE by minicomputer VAX8550 system software and network software. This method is realized to build good environment for distributed database system between microcomputer and minicomputer.
