Study of MPEG-4 Based Facial Deformation Algorithms

MPEG- 4已经成为新的国际标准 ,其中定义了如何表示和驱动虚拟的人脸和人体动画 .文中根据 MPEG- 4的脸部定义参数 ,应用 Dirichlet自由变形算法 (简称 DFFD)对一般人脸进行变形 .与其它自由变形算法相比 ,DFFD的主要优点是对于控制盒的拓扑结构与控制点的位置没有任何限制 .在实践的过程中 ,又对该方法进行了一些改进 。

MPEG 4 has become the new international standard. It defines how to represent and animate the synthetic human faces and bodies. According to the set of FDPs in MPEG 4, this paper applies Dirichlet Free Form Deformation algorithm to refine the generic facial model. The main advantages of the model over former extension of FFDs involve in removing the constraints on control lattice and control points locations. In addition, we have improved the DFFD algorithm to make it more adaptable to the facial deformation.
