The structure and working principle of BIOSMEDI, a new biological filter filled with light granular package material, are presented briefly. The experiment of BIOSMEDI to pre-purify micro-polluted raw water has stated that this facility has advantages of high pre-treatment efficiency, low resistance losses and low consumption of backwashing water and air.
