As a consequence of this, VAI has developed the WETFINE system which is capable of reducing emission levels from sources such as sinter plants, pellet plants, waste incinerators and glass furnaces to previously unattained levels. A WETFINE plant consists of a scrubber and a wet electrostatic precipitator which removes fine dust such as alkaline chloride particles in addition to PCDD/F and SO x compounds from the offgas stream.
