Studies on the biology of the greater wax moth( Galleria mellonella L.)

在 35± 1℃ ,60～ 85 %RH ,全黑暗环境中用中蜂旧巢脾饲养的大蜡螟 ,其卵、幼虫、蛹、雌蛾、雄蛾的历期分别为 8 6、4 9 4± 9 4、1 0 8± 1 9、5 5± 2 6、9 2± 3 3天。雌蛾平均产卵量为 72 5 2± 1 4 8 3粒 ( 2 5 8～ 1 4 1 5粒 )。平均产卵前期为 0 6天 ( 0～ 2天 )。平均产卵期为 4 3± 0 8天 ,但平均有效产卵期只有 3 4± 0 6天。雌性蛹、蛾的体重比雄性蛹、蛾的极显著重 ,雌雄蛹重分别为 1 62 1± 5 1mg和 1 2 2 2± 1 9mg ,雌雄蛾重分别为 1 2 2 3± 1 6mg和 74 0± 7 5mg。卵多产于 0 2 3～ 0 2 7mm缝隙中 ,单层扁平成片 ,大小为 0 34± 0 0 4× 0 34±0 0 6mm。

Studies were carried on the biology of the greater wax moth which were reared with old combs of Chinese honeybee(\%Apis cerana cerana\%) at 35±1℃, 60～85%RH, in darkness. Lengths of its different stages are :egg 8 6; larva, 49 4±9 4; pupa, 10 8±1 9; male adult, 5 5±2 6; and female adult, 9 2±3 3 days. The average number of eggs laid by one female adult is 725 2±148 3(258～1415). The average duration before oviposition is 0 6 days(0～2 days), The average oviposition duration is 4 3±0 8 days, but its effective duration is 3 4±0 6 days. There are significant differences between the average weight of male and that of female pupae (122 2±1 9mg for male, 162 1±5 1mg for female), and that of male and that of female adults (74 0±7 5mg for male, 122 3±1 6mg for female). Eggs always laid collectively in one layer between the crevice of 0 23～0 27mm, with the size of 0 34±0 04×0 34±0 06mm。
