Reflections on Contemporary Cultural Conservatism in China

中国当代文化保守主义的产生有其深刻的国内外背景 ,它放弃激进的社会 /政治批判话语 ,转而采取文化上的保守主义话语 ,主张回归中国传统文化 ,反省现代性 ,从而深化了对现代化本质的认识。但由于其专注于政治层面 ,淡化了它的学理意义和对中国文化建设可能有的理论贡献。

The contemporary cultural conservatism in China emerged against the deep background at home and abroad. They give up the radical social or political talk style in making critical comments, and adopt a talk style of cultural conservatism, advocate a return to Chinese traditional culture and self question modern character, thus deepening its cognition on modernization. But they reduce their theoretical significance and potential theoretical contribution to the construction of Chinese culture, because they concentrate their attention on politics.
